New Writing Work - Brian M Logan
My focus in 2010 is primarily on the novel side of things, with a new novel (working title 'DC') due for completion in the 2nd half of the year.
I'm also continuing working with my ever talented writing partner, Steven Savile (writing as 'Logan Savile'), with a new Monster Town novella called 'The Blues Singer', due out through Dark Region Press around December 2010.
A special edition uber-cool Ace flip-book style double-novella of 'Monster Town' and its prequel, 'The Butcher of Box Hill' was published in the US in March 2010 by Bad Moon Books. A full length novel version of 'Monster Town' (currently being written) is due out sometime in late 2011.
Note: 'Monster Town' is currently being packaged by my team in Hollywood, under the auspices of production company, Thunder Road (the company behind 'Clash of the Titan's amongst other terrific films). So there are exciting times ahead!
Talking about films: on the screenplay front I am currently working on a new action / adventure screenplay (working title 'TAW'). Aiming to have this in the hands of my team in Hollywood around September 2010.
I also recently finished a new draft of my genre horror screenplay, 'Feedin' the Freezer', which I am in negotiations to produce as a low-budget Aussie horror alongside producer Steven Caldwell ('Bad Behaviour').
Aside from all of that, I'm also halfway through a brand spanking new high concept action / adventure screenplay (working title 'TC'). Though this one is on the back-burner until I finish 'TAW'.
I have 32,000 words of a novel with the working title of, 'RW', floating around too. It's an EYA book (Edgy Young Adult - ages 14-17). This novel is set in a tiny village in England called Corfe Castle. Think, 'The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe' meets 'Harry Potter', with a generous helping of Richard the Lionheart thrown in for good measure. No idea when this'll get finished though, as the commissioned work obviously takes precedence.
Also gestating is a self-help book for the Christian market, and a children's book for 4-6 year olds.
